Last Letter: She Hits the God Note

Volume I | Issue I | Letter VII | VI MMXXV | words: Sarah Woods

You can’t practice hitting the God Note. And no teacher or script can promise you it. The coeurency of the creation of you, isn’t taught… because it is all of who you already be. A sacred expression of light. Just like a star.

My friend, Kendel Carson, is a rock star. In the thirty plus years I’ve known her, I can attest to her stage presence, work acumen, professionalism, ability to command a crowd, and dedication and discipline to her craft. She has incredible skills, both inherent and learned, as a musician. She’s a master.

But she doesn’t practice hitting the God Note. (There’s no one teaching it, anyways.)

She becomes it. She is it. It’s Kendel, being all of who she came here to be. From curb-side busking when we were eight-years old, to today’s mega stages.

There’s a nameless space of being within us all, that moves. A coeurency of Source that cradles us in the truth of who we are.

There’s a nameless space of being within us all, that moves. A coeurency of Source that cradles us in the truth of who we are.

Pure love.

Kendel is not the violin. Nor is she her gorgeous blonde hair. Or the bow in which speaks the language of her fiddle. She is the song of an unwritten anthem for le coeur. Hitting the light note, evoking not emotion, but a swelling of the sea within the heart that reminds one of who they really are.

She hits the God Note.

Kendel is what we all endeavour to be. Not a rock star. Not someone else. But who we really are. One within the oneness. A movement of something greater than us, yet is us.

Perhaps, the greatest service in a chaotic world, is remembering this truth.

Kendel evokes a remembering within the crowd that they too, are love. Not carrying the title of lead of the band, yet her role as the coeurency, is truly what brings everyone on the stage, together. A true collaborator orchestrating the stage, and all of us in the crowd, deeper into own our infinite brightness. Not a resource outside of one’s brilliance of being, but, just like… a star.
